FLEET RACING:

Sunday September 9:

Wind: 7 kts
Direction: SW
Flood tide
Sunrise: 6:29am
Sunset: 7:14pm
Moon Phase: Waning crescent:

But wait, didn't someone say they saw a full moon during the race?

With 13 boats on-the-line, our PRO for the day, Howard Vickery ran two races, a D2 and a D1.

At the end, we had a tie for first between Ed Sweeney and Galloway/Linville, each with 4 points. Ed and Team 454 won the tie-breaker by winning the second race. Third went to 733 Sheehan, Howe and Sparkman

Tean 454: Leo Schlinkert, Art Collins, Bill Tomson and Ed Sweeney
The top three results were:

454: 3, 1
701: 1, 3
733: 2, 5

Long Island Sound Championships:

We currently have 15 boats registered, 12 from Noroton. Not bad but I was hoping for 18 Noroton boats by now.

My forecast is for sunny skies, temperature 75º, SW wind at 10-12 kts with flat water.

Until I hear otherwise, that's what I'm going with.

KIRBY CUP:

Noroton is hosting the Kirby Cup team race this weekend so there will be no fleet racing.

LAST FLEET RACE:

Speaking of ending the season, there will be two fleet racing Sunday's after the regatta. Our last fleet race is on October 14.

To encourage participation, we are going to invite all skippers who travel to the LIS Champs to leave their boats with us and race those final two weekends.

We hope to see you out there as well.
